Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is an end-of-life electronics program approved by the BC government. EPRA is a not for profit organization established by manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders to ensure materials are processed and recycled in a responsible manner that safeguards the environment and worker health & safety as well as preventing illegal export to developing countries.
The program is funded by an Environmental Handling Fee (EHF) on members’ products that is remitted to EPRA on the sale of designated products in or into the province. The end-user will pay the EHF and the fee will only be paid once in the supply chain.
EPRA works closely with similar programs in Saskatchewan and other provinces to harmonize stewardship programs across Canada.
EPRA has contracted Encorp Pacific (Canada) to manage operations with respect to the Stewardship plan. Encorp is a federal, not-for-profit organization with over 12 years experience managing Beverage Container Recycling Stewardship Plan.
